Joshua Omar Medina Cortes, better known as Omar Courtz is a Puerto Rican singer, and songwriter. Born on October 11, 1997, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he started off pursuing his dream at the early age of 10, writing a full 12-song album. Professionally recording since 2018, he released his first single “Volvemos Otra Vez” (2018), which had a great impact to the SoundCloud community and his hometown Carolina, Puerto Rico. “Rosas Negras” (2018), his most famous song to date, made a debut on the internet and social media trending in several countries in South America such as Venezuela, Colombia, and Mexico. A little less than a year after releasing “Volvemos Otra Vez”, Omar released his first EP Invierno (2019). This EP included the track “4” (2019), which was the single that caught his manager’s attention. Recruited as a student-athlete by his college, the track and field medalist is now in his final semester of his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2020 Omar signed with the renowned record label, Mr. 305 Records, home to successful artists such as Pitbull, to make his professional recording debut with his first single “DIME”.
