How old do you have to be to attend a Strand show?

The Strand is All-Ages (which generally refers to children 12 and older) unless otherwise posted. For some shows, it may be appropriate for younger children to attend an event, so please contact the Box Office with any questions on this.

I’m a Parent and worry about letting my child go to an all-ages show at The Strand

The Strand has been doing all-ages shows for many years and our staff makes a point to look out for the well-being of younger and less experienced concertgoers. It is likely that if your 15 year-old son or daughter is interested in attending a concert here, then a majority of the other concertgoers will be around the same age. The decision to let your child come to a show is one we want parents to feel comfortable with. We encourage parents to research the band your child is interested in going to see and even attend a show with your kids if they are first-timers to see how The Strand runs the club and how we treat our patrons. We feel confident you will be comfortable with allowing your child to come to more The Strand shows.

Do I Need an ID to enter the Venue?

If you plan on drinking alcohol, an ID is required. Because we are an all-ages venue, we take checking IDs seriously. Anyone 21 and older who plans on drinking alcohol will have to show a valid, non-expired, government issued photo ID, no matter how old you think you look. Anyone without an ID will be treated as under 21 and will not be allowed to buy, hold or drink alcohol. This policy is strictly enforced and any violation is subject to immediate ejection from The Strand.

If a show is 18+ or 21+, an ID is required to enter the venue.  You must have the physical government-issued ID in hand, we do not except pictures or photocopies of IDs.

Does The Strand have seating?

For some shows, we offer Reserved Mezzanine seating. The Mezzanine comprises the first 10 rows of the balcony and offers a great view of the stage in a relaxed setting.

Usually, when the Reserved Mezzanine seating is offered, patrons are allowed to sit in the Unreserved Balcony section behind the Reserved Mezzanine seating.

However, for some sold-out shows, all Balcony seats may be Reserved.

The first floor is generally standing room only unless otherwise noted. There is limited seating in the VIP sections on both the right and left sides of the downstairs main floor. Most nights, this is on a first come, first serve basis.

The Strand does do some fully seated shows as well as ‘cabaret-style seating’ shows. If a show has seating, it will be listed in the show information.

What is your bag policy?

The Strand does not allow large handbags (larger than 10 x 10) or backpacks into the venue.  All bags will be searched upon entering the venue.

What time do the doors close for a show?

Doors close at a different time for each show.  Please contact the box office at 401.618.8900 for a specific show.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanged.

Exceptions:
If a show is postponed and rescheduled, the new date will be posted to the website and your ticket for the original show will be honored or you may have a refund at point of purchase. If a show is canceled, then refunds will be given at point of purchase

I’m in a Wheel Chair but want to come to the show. Is The Strand ADA accessible?

The first floor is wheelchair accessible. We are happy to make special arrangements to be sure you have a good spot to watch the show. Just give us a call at 401.618.8900. The mezzanine and balcony are not accessible by wheelchair.

Can I Rent The Strand for a private party or any other event or concert?

Yes. The Strand is available to rent for almost any use, depending on if there is a show booked or not. Please contact info@thestrandri.com for rates, availability and other related info.

Do you have an ATM?

Yes

Do you have a Coat Check?

Yes, during the colder months. $3 per item.

Where is the Bar?

There are 9 bars at The Strand – 5 downstairs, 1 in the balcony foyer, and additional 3 floor bars open only occasionally. Whenever the balcony is open, we either have a waitress on or the balcony bar is open, in some instances both.

Can I go out to my car once I come in?

Sorry, no. The Strand has a strict No Re-Entry policy.

Do you allow Smoking?

The Strand is a smoke-free establishment. We have a designated smoking area outside. Please ask a staff member and they will direct you to it.

What are your policies regarding photo/video/audio?

Photo policy is per the terms dictated by each particular artist, but in general, it is as follows:

No audio. No video. No cameras or iPads are allowed in the venue.

Will you release any tickets to a sold out show?

No

How do I get my band on a bill at The Strand?

The Strand is a large club, therefore we primarily book national bands or local bands with a substantial fan-base. National acts usually tour with their own support acts, so opening slots are very limited. If you want to get started in the Providence area, The Strand is not the right venue for you. We suggest The Met, our sister club, as a great venue for developing bands. Click here for info on how to get your band a show.
